Email campaign · NSF Brand Brief

Keep the brand moving.

Good guidance needs more than a place to live. Through NSF Brand Brief, I turn brand updates into clear reasons to open an email, explore a resource, and put it to use.

The work

From a resource
to a reason to act.

NSF Brand Brief connects the work of brand management with the people applying it. I develop the message and visual presentation for emails that make updates easier to understand, with a clear path to the next useful resource.

The campaign brings together editorial planning, writing, visual design, and GovDelivery communications. Each edition starts with a practical question: what does the reader need to know, and what should they be able to do next?

Selected editions

One campaign. Useful next steps.

A portal update and a manual release show how the same format can support different messages.

You shared your feedback — we listened!

The portal update translated changes into everyday benefits: easier navigation, quicker access to frequently used files, copy-and-paste color codes, and clearer paths for staff and partners.

The email gave readers a reason to return to the portal and try the improvements for themselves.

Meet the 2026 NSF Brand Standards Manual

The launch email introduced the updated guide through the questions it helps readers answer, including agency naming, brand application, awardee connections, and acknowledgment on social media.

A direct link to the manual and a supporting centers-and-institutes resource made the next step easy to find.

One connected system

Guidance. Access. Engagement.

The manual

Sets out the standards and gives people practical examples to apply.

Brand Brief

Connects improvements with the people who need them, giving each update a clear message and next step.

The continuing story

Build it.
Help people use it.

The manual and portal provide the foundation. Brand Brief keeps those resources part of the conversation, connecting new guidance with the questions and tasks people encounter in their work.

This campaign continues the NSF brand implementation work documented in my case study, adding an ongoing communications layer to the system.
